Marguerite in Faust and Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande are two of Victoria's emblematic characters that will be present in this recital that the legendary Natalie Dessay will offer in her debut at LIFE Victoria together with Philippe Cassard. The first, Marguerite, accompanied her in her international debuts at the Opéra de Paris (1949) and at the Metropolitan in New York (1951); the second, Mélisande, fascinated her all her life, choosing her to say goodbye to opera in 1981 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. In this personal programme, Natalie Dessay also chooses songs by composers such as Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Clara Wieck Schumann and Alma Mahler. French Chic for this recital dedicated to Victoria's relationship with the mélodie.
