Schubert's Vienna was a small town compared to today's imperial city left by Emperor Franz Joseph. A city that the composer rarely left except to go to the surrounding countryside, and which inspired him so much in his work. Both in the city and its environs, whether urban or rural, Schubert surely heard constantly the so-called Volksmusik, not folk music as we properly understand it today, but something like "the music of the people", what would be understood as traditional. Folk tones, easy to be whistled, songs that were sung while working or toasts that are present in the musical structure and lyrics of her Lieder. Elena Copons returns to LIFE Victoria together with Jan Petryka, along with Tòfol Romaguera and Mar Compte, young talent of the Festival.
