After the success of the beginning of the Tetralogy by Robert Carsen with (The Rhinegold) El Oro del Rin, the Teatro Real contines with the second stage (The Ring of Niebelungs) El Anillo del Nibelungo by Richard Wagner, with Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado and outstanding artists of Wagnerian repertory such as Adrianne Pieczonka, Stuart Skelton or René Pape. Perhaps this is the most popular title of the series, both because of the name of the opera, as well as for the music of the “Ride of the Valkyries” at the beginning of the Third Act. In this opera, the powerful ring continues to be the object of desire and source of conflict, in addition to dictating the fate of both those who desire it and those who fear it.
