The Heart of Teatro Real a documentary produced by Telecinco Cinema dedicated to one of the most exclusive temples of music and performing arts in the world. A place where art is created, performed and experienced to the full.
The film directed by the prestigious documentary filmmaker José Luis López-Linares offers us an overview of the history and functioning of the Teatro Real, through never-before-seen archive material, unpublished images, interviews and the soundtrack of fantastic productions performed at the Teatro Real. A condensed journey through 200 years of history through dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, workshops, backstage, which becomes a real pleasure for the spectator and the opportunity to experience a majestic succession of discoveries and revelations about this place.
As the producers Álvaro Augustin and Ghislain Barrois explain "If we wanted to discover the secrets of 200 years of history of the Teatro Real, we had to unveil what the Teatro Real really is: it is more than a building, more than a group of professionals and artists, more than a handful of works.... The Teatro Real is history; it is the story of passionate music lovers setting up a dream. A place where every night when the lights dim and the audience falls silent, all the emotions absorbed by its historic velvet curtain emerge".
Among the notable figures appearing in the film are Teresa Berganza, Mario Vargas Llosa, Plácido Domingo, Juan Diego Flórez, María Bayo, Nuria Espert, Mario Gas, Javier Camarena and Rufus Wainwright.
