Die Zauberflöte (2005)
There are many possible interpretations for the scope of The Magic Flute: the proliferation of symbolism of multiple and uncertain origin, the spatio-temporal unreliability of the characters, the fantastic element introduced into the action, the lack of definition of the moral principles that govern the work (since the dissemination of Masonic ideas does not seem sufficient to explain certain attitudes of the characters), all contribute to the ambiguity of the stage atmosphere. This ambiguity turns The Magic Flute, in the vision of La Fura dels Baus, into a surrealist fable. (Valentina Carrasco)
