This title is the result of the recovery of the Spanish opera heritage; the opera tells the tragic story of Merope, Queen of Epirus. It is presented for the first time at the Teatro Real together with Akamus Akademie für Alte Musik, a renowned instrumental ensemble under the baton of Francesco Corti.
This opera narrates the tragedy of Merope, Queen of Epirus, and her son Epitide. The plot focuses on the conflict between love and duty when Epitide falls in love with his sister Electra, triggering a series of tragic events.
