The Ensemble I Gemelli takes us on a journey to the heart of the Italian 17th century, between cult arias and period cantatas. A timeless event at the Théâtre Graslin in Nantes.
From Monterverdi to Cavalli via Sances, Strozzi and Carissimi, the Ensemble I Gemelli covers a myriad of 17th century Italian works. Created by Emiliano González Toro and Mathilde Etienne in 2018, the Ensemble specialises in 17th century vocal music. I Gemelli is also characterised by an original musical direction: starting from singing, the continuo and the orchestra are considered as an expansion of singing. A concert behind closed doors to be discovered in its simplicity and power.
